This Byte module takes you through the second stage of planning a garden: measuring up the site and getting a plan down on paper.

  • plot accurately how all the features of the garden relate to one another

  • draw up a plan on which you can base your designs for the new garden layout.

This second module of a short series on how to plan a garden takes you through the processes used in measuring (triangulation and offsets), how to take levels, and how to transfer your measurements to paper. 

This is 'byte sized' learning; this module takes you through three key points in the process of planning a garden:

 

  • How to survey boundaries and the main features in the garden
  • How to assess changes in levels within the garden
  • How to draw up a site plan from your measurements.

This course is delivered on-line through our Moodle platform. When you have completed this module you can take a short online multiple choice test, to confirm your understanding of the topics covered. To be successful you have to achieve 80%, and you are permitted to take the test a number of times.

If you purchase this course you will have access to it for 24 months from the date of purchase.

You will be able to download and print out a certificate of completion from B.E.S.T. in Horticulture Education Limited.
