The B.E.S.T. in Horticulture Group

B.E.S.T. Bytes Lawns

A traditional grass lawn can be a practical space for play and entertainment, as well as an important element in garden biodiversity  –  an ecosystem sheltering insects above the ground and fungi and microbes below it.

This ‘byte sized’ module gives you the key points to creating and maintaining a healthy grass lawn.

This module takes you through the key points that lead to successful lawns.

This is 'byte sized' learning and this module takes you through four key points that lead to successful lawns:

  • Suitable plant species
  • Methods of establishment
  • Maintenance of lawns
  • Controlling common lawn pests and diseases

This course is delivered on-line through our Moodle platform. When you have completed this module you can take a short online multiple choice test, to confirm your understanding of the topics covered. To be successful you have to achieve 80%, and you are permitted to take the test a number of times.

If you purchase this course you will have access to it for 24 months from the date of purchase.

You will be able to download and print out a certificate of completion from B.E.S.T. in Horticulture Education Limited.

The cost is £ 25.00, which includes registration and self-certification. You will study this module at home.

You can purchase the course online from our website.

You will then be automatically enrolled and you can start studying the modules straight away.

This is a 'byte sized' module of study covering a single topic, how to achieve success in planting a range of plants.

You can go on to do another of our B.E.S.T. Bytes courses, or consider enrolling on one of our longer programs of study.
